Marginalization devices in U.S. press coverage of Iraq war protest: A content analysis
Article Abstract:
The prominence of marginalization devices in non-editorial coverage of Iraq War protest in 3 major US newspapers over a 1-year period is examined by employing an innovative typology. Practical and scholarly implications are addressed in scrutinizing the mass media's role in shaping interpretations of sociopolitical issues.

The effects of news and entertainment on interpersonal trust: political talk radio, newspapers, and television

Four data sets are analyzed to explain interpersonal trust (IP) where education, newspaper readership and age are consistent and strong associates of trusting attitudes and behaviors. Reported political talk radio listening and elite electronic news use are linked to trust.
