Natural reduction of binge drinking among college students
Article Abstract:
A study of 91 college students who had indulged in binge drinking while in high school but did not receive any treatment was conducted to see if drinking of alcohol was reduced while in college. The study revealed that 22% of students reduced their alcohol intake on their own without any treatment. The researchers also examine the social factors that differentiate those who reduce alcohol consumption with those who continued to binge.

Alcohol expectancies and drinking behaviors in Mexican American college students
Article Abstract:
The positive alcohol expectancies and their association with contextual drinking and alcohol-related problem behaviors in a sample of 107 Mexican American college students who completed self-report surveys, were examined. Results showed that students who endorsed expectancies of physical and social pleasure and increased social assertiveness were likely to engage in frequent heavy drinking and imbibe in less personal settings.
