Out of touch, out of bounds: how social networks shape the labor market Radii of women on welfare in San Francisco
Article Abstract:
This study suggests that women on welfare are limited in their job search by their lack of education, transportation, and involvement in social networks outside their neighborhoods. The author suggests this study has important policy implications for welfare-to-work programs.
