Palermo's cultural revolution and the renewal project of the city administration
Article Abstract:
A cultural revolution began in Palermo, Italy, with the murders of magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino in 1992. Decline in violent crime, improved business, and increased tourism have largely been due to state opposition to organized crime, civic will to be freed from criminal limitation, and local government accountability.
