Personality judgments from natural and composite facial images: More evidence for a 'kernel of truth' in social perception
Article Abstract:
Facial characteristics of a person are often the basis on which people judge his personality due to the generally accepted belief that faces portray character. Such belief is generally unsupported within the discipline of psychology but in the face of a growing literature that suggests a valid connection between personality and facial characteristics a study was conducted to assess the accuracy of responses made to individual faces and to computer composite ones.

The Induction-Deduction Asymmetry: Fact or artifact?
Article Abstract:
Five studies are reported that test the hypothesis that inductive inferences from behaviors to traits are performed more frequently than deductive inferences from traits to behaviors, a phenomenon referred to as the Induction-Deduction Asymmetry (I.D.A.). The experiments demonstrate that I.D.A. is a very robust phenomenon, but that it only occurs for information embedded in a social context.
