Protecting refugee women: from policy to program implementation
Article Abstract:
Agencies involved in aiding refugees have increasingly addressed the vulnerability of women refugees to sexual and physical abuse. Women are also discriminated against in the distribution of food and facilities since camp managers typically do not consider that the women have to provide for their families and undergo many hardships for their children. The UN High Commission for Refugees has created guidelines that call for physical protection of women. These are implemented by appointing women leaders in refugee camps.

African refugee settlement assistance in Melbourne
Article Abstract:
The study on the Australian African settlement assistance system in Melbourne, Australia, has showed that African refugees cannot relate socially and politically with Australian nation state. The refugees still experience racial discrimination and maltreatment from the populace. Furthermore, the relief organization in the country fails to support the linguistic, occupational, financial, educational and cultural needs of the African refugees.
