Research in ethnic segregation II: Measurements, categories and meanings
Article Abstract:
The issues of ethnic and racial segregation are examined by considering the factors that produce segregation, the measurement, categorization and meanings of segregation and the consequences of segregation. The meaning of segregation and the way it relates to the values, both negative and positive, are determined to find out the general implications of segregation.

Immigration and North American cities

Issues are discussed regarding the urban orientation of the influx of new immgrants transforming the face of American cities. Urban geography has thus increased its focus on immigrants and the social processes that influence where they live and work.

The ghetto model and ethnic concentration in Australian cities
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the paucity of ghetto areas in Australia is discussed. The relative lack of such areas indicates that the ghetto model is in Australia not suitable as a description of the concentrations of ethnic groups in urban areas.
