Self-awareness and feeling transparent: failing to suppress one's self
Article Abstract:
The article discusses studies indicating that increased-self awareness is associated with increased feelings of transparency. One study explored the relation between dispositional self-awareness and feelings of transparency, one the effects of state self-awareness on feelings of transparency, and one compared individuals' self-awareness in an evaluative context that induced this feeling with a nonevaluative context.

The effect of self-affirmation on perception of racism
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that suggests that group differences in perception of racism can be eliminated by a self-affirmation manipulation was tested with Latino and White students as subjects. It was tentatively concluded that the affirmation treatment attenuated perception of racism among Latino participants and that it facilitated perception of racism among White participants.

Reducing the tendency to self-handicap: The effect of self-affirmation
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis study tested that people would be less likely to engage in self-handicapping if they have previously engaged to self-affirmation. The results found that self-affirmation is more effective in reducing self-handicapping behavior when individuals experienced non-contingent success than when they experience contingent success.
