The way in which social work education is influenced by the Nordic welfare state, the European Union, changing roles of professionals and professional international organizations is presented. The Nordic model of hiring people at the workplace is an object of international interest as it lets companies hire and fire very easily leading to rapid change.

Disability in Turkey: suggestions for overcoming current problems
Article Abstract:
Turkey needs to eliminate barriers in the lives of many disabled people by starting processes that will lead to the implementation of the principle of equality in practice. Policies and procedures need to be changed and help and care facilities need to be effectively used.

The effects upon children in Jordan of the imprisonment of their fathers: a social work perspective
Article Abstract:
A study to find the effects upon children in Jordan whose fathers were imprisoned is conducted. Results show that children were adversely affected and stigmatized and had problems relating to emotional development, schooling and behavior.
