Some tests of the distinction between cognitive and affective beliefs
Article Abstract:
Five experiments were conducted to differentiate between the cognitive and affective determinants of attitudes. Both the first and second experiments used a traditional factor analytic paradigm in testing the effects of cognitive and affective beliefs. The third, fourth and fifth experiments tested specific effects of the associative hypothesis. Results indicate that people differentiate between cognitive and affective beliefs and form associations only among beliefs of a similar type.

Can implementation intentions help overcome ego-depletion?
Article Abstract:
Research on ego-depletion suggested that the ability to self-regulate ones behavior is limited; self-control when exerted on an initial task reduces performance on a subsequent task that also requires self-control. Two experiments tested whether forming implementation intentions could prevent ego-depletion and offset effects of ego-depletion.
