The association between alcohol use and intimate partner violence: linear effect, threshold effect, or both?
Article Abstract:
The association between alcohol and male-to-female intimate partner violence(IPV), in men from two nationally representative samples, were studied to identify whether the association was a linear effect, or threshold effect or both. The results indicated that the effect was linear as well as threshold and that drinking patterns play a major role in conceptualizing alcohol as a risk factor for IPV.
