The effect of expectations on satisfaction when feedback about performance is not provided
Article Abstract:
The influence of individual's expectations on satisfaction over performance was investigated. Feedback was withheld to reduce bias on the individual's perception of the performance. The areas examined were initial expectations, subjective assessment of the performance and reconstructed expectations, which are expectations after the performance. Results showed that satisfaction is largely determined by subjective performance and when this aspect is controlled, initial expectations do not affect satisfaction.

The implications of success for hierarchically and partially restrictive ability dimensions
Article Abstract:
Undergraduate students participated in three experiments designed to determine the consequences of success for hierarchically and partially restrictive ability dimensions. The results suggested that negative dispositions regarding other people's capabilities may be prevented or countered with only a few triumphs. Moreover, optimisms regarding other people's capabilities is less vulnerable to succeeding failures. Hence, people give more consideration on successes rather than failure.
