The elderly and prison policy
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the rising population of aged prisoners and the problems that are being caused as a result. The author examines the high costs of caring for these prisoners, and suggests several reform possibilities, such as the Project for Older Prisoners, which attempts to get an early release for older prisoners that have already served an average crime sentence.

The continuing gender gap in later life economic security
Article Abstract:
This article examines elderly women and the economic disadvantages they face. The author maintains that women over the age of 65, particularly African-Americans and Hispanics, have the greatest risk of living in poverty, and often relates to their personal histories, as well as poor policy-making.
