The end of work and the end of welfare
Article Abstract:
US President Bill Clinton stopped welfare from being an entitlement under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act 1996. Welfare reform has not been driven by the goal of eliminating poverty but is being perceived as a separate issue. Under the Act, disabled children are less eligible for benefits, the poor are being victimized by more rigid welfare entitlement calculations, aliens are denied most federal benefits and unmarried teenage parents are required to attend school and live with adults to obtain Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits.

Creating sexual pleasure and sexual justice in the twenty-first century
Article Abstract:
Despite significant steps made in the twentieth century to liberalise sexual practice and justice, it is argued that inconsistencies can still be identified in some areas. Early positive sex education would teach young people how to behave responsibly and protect public health; while plentiful and free contraception would improve family planning and disease protection; and unrealistic portrayals of romantic situations generates insecurities.
