Article Abstract:
Acceptance of continuing medical treatment in hopeless cases will decrease due to several factors. Attitudes toward continuing treatment are changing, as most individuals indicate they do not want to be kept alive if they are terminally ill or in a permanent vegetative state. The primary factor, however, will be economic considerations, as medical costs continue to rise.
