They said it couldn't be done: the National Health and Social Life Survey
Article Abstract:
The National Health and Social Life Survey is better known as the Sex Survey since it asks many questions about sexual practices and behaviors. The survey was supposed to be funded in part by the government, and this altered the questions, making them less focused than the poll takers desired. The survey was done face-to-face, which is more likely to provide more accurate responses. Response to the survey is the most extensive to date for a national household sample.

Is "up" right? The National Household Survey on Drug Abuse
Article Abstract:
The National Household Survey on Drug Abuse (NHSDA) has undergone significant modifications to attain more credibility. Significant changes were made on sample design, data collection and postsurvey adjustments. However, the validity of the NHSDA is still undermined because the value of self-reports is still relatively unreliable. Self-reports are often misleading because interviewees tend to underreport a socially negative behavior.

Response to "They said it couldn't be done: the National Health and Social Life Survey." (response to Peter Miller, Public Opinion Quarterly, vol. 59, p. 404)
Article Abstract:
Researchers of the National AIDS and Behavioral Survey (NABS) commented that Peter Miller's claims about the number of sexual partners of AIDS patients written in his review article on the National Health and Social Life Survey are baseless. Miller's updates on AIDS were also allegedly inaccurate.
