The impact of perceived entitivity on inconsistency resolution for groups and individuals
Article Abstract:
Perceptions of entitivity are associated with the different impressions formed of groups and individuals. Perceived unity in a target's intentions and goals underlies the assumptions of entivity and the obtained impression effects. Perceivers are more likely to apply restrictive diagnosticity schemes to resolve inconsistent behavior in a predicted direction for targets who are individual than for groups.

Psychological essentialism and stereotype endorsement
Article Abstract:
The research on implicit person theories shows that people who believe that human attributes are immutable are particularly prone to endorse social stereotypes. It is proposed that this research on implicit person theories can be placed within an encompassing framework of psychological essentialism.
