The journal of the history of sociology: It origins and scope
Article Abstract:
The Journal of the History of Sociology (JHS) and other projects were founded in 1976 in Boston, Massachusetts in a burst of creativity between jobs. The purpose of the JHS is four-fold, first, as a discipline, sociology gained confidence in itself and a certain maturity and perspective on its past, second, sociology was reflecting the introspection of the 1960s with its radical concern for self-knowledge, third a major sociology, third, a major sociology journals about its own past and the journal should not be international.
