The representation of Social problems in the Russian press in the 1990s
Article Abstract:
The fundamental changes that took place in Russian life in the 1990s are highlighted. The Russian media analysed social problems of three levels, the individual, organisational and political and the way in which mass media reflect the new principles of social policy and the evolution of the system of social protection of citizens under the new conditions is examined.

Social and economic adaptation: Resources and possibilities
Article Abstract:
The reforms of the economy and society taken place in Russia since 1990 had an impact on the whole population of the country. People have changed their customary models of social and economic behavior to suit the new requirements of the institutional environment.
