The sociology of law in the United States
Article Abstract:
American legal sociology reflects scientific orientation, producing a large volume of research about almost all aspects of law and the recently-developed theory by Donald Black that can be applied to many aspects of social life. Explorations in pure sociology began in the sociology of law and has attracted international interest.

Reexamining economic sociology: beyond rational choice reductionism
Article Abstract:
Economic sociology is discussed in relation to rational choice theory. Topics include elements of economic sociology and rational choice in neoclassical economics, classical economic sociology in relation to rational choice theory, and some commonalities between rational choice theory and orthodox Marxism.
