The territorial community and the ethnic views of the population of Komi
Article Abstract:
People positively rated interethnic relations as they stood in the Republic of Komi on the whole, though complete harmony among the various ethnic communities was not achieved. Public opinion surveys suggest not only a relatively low positive rating of interethnic relations but also that conflict-generating ethnocultural and ethnopolitical sentiments are prevalent among the largest ethnic communities in the Republic of Komi and the Russians.

The Russian electorate
Article Abstract:
A glance at Russia's twelve years of electoral experience and the forecasts of the upcoming parliamentary elections of 2003 is discussed. It was observed that the basic feature of the situation that has taken shape is a return to othings the way they used to beo in the sense that the country's population has once again, like 1991, placed its bets not on the institutions of a civil society but on one-man leadership.
