Why 'our' policies set the standard more than 'theirs' category norms and generalization between European Union countries
Article Abstract:
Experiments are conducted to examine the way British participants used representations of the category European Union (EU) countries, to judge similarities, reason about generalization, and explain differences between EU countries. The participants generalized less to their distinctive in-group than from it, considered their in-group and the out-group rather than an out-group, and rarely mentioned attributes of the policy's home country while explaining differences between countries.

Social and emotional functions of mother-child reminiscing about stressful events
Article Abstract:
Twenty-seven mostly White mixed SES mother-child dyads discussing one chronic experience and one acutely stressful experience related to the child's asthma is examined. Analysis of the content of these discussions suggested that the contribution of a mother to the discussion of each experience was highly related to the contribution of her child.
