Some fishers believe that the San Juan Worm is not a fishing fly because it does not resemble an insect, but it should be considered a fly because of the way in which it is used. Fishers should be allowed to use whatever equipment they wish.

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is looking to reduce the pike populations at Spinney Mountain and Elevenmile Reservoirs on the South Platte River. Fisheries managers have lifted the size ceilings on pike at both locations in 2000.
