Childhood and adolescent physical activity patterns and adult physical activity

Article Abstract:

Being forced to exercise as children or adolescents may influence people to avoid exercise as adults. Required exercise during preteen years is generally related to participation in individual sports, with adolescent experiences most often oriented around participation in team sports. People in this study whose exercise was most intense as children or teenagers were the least active as adults.

Predictive validity of three ActiGraph energy expenditure equations for children

Article Abstract:

A study evaluates the predictive validity of three previously published ActiGraph energy expenditure (EE) prediction equations developed for children and adolescents. The data expresses that the three-accelerometer prediction equations do not accurately predict EE on a minute-by-minute basis in children and adolescents during overground walking and running.
