Several ways to avoid kick-start corrosion and the effect of cold and condensation on the boat's electrical systems and components during sailing season are presented. Some of the ways include checking the systems voltage with a digital voltmeter, checking the shore-power plug connections for signs of discoloration or corrosion and checking the AC/DC individual panel circuits for function and corrosion.

Catboats get the vote
Article Abstract:
Catboats were developed in late-1700s on either Cape Cod or Barnegat Bay, New Jersey and they emerged by the mid-nineteenth century as the preeminent American workboat. Heavily built, with a beam half the length of the waterline, (they rarely exceed 26 feet in overall length), it is stable, and sails flat with little heel.
