Article Abstract:
Four ascenders that make self-propelled mast climbing at sea possible in while emergency, which provide a solid, secure perch, and allow one to work with both hands free, and can be operated solo are presented. Two of the braked lifting/descending devices are ATN Topclimber and Swiss Tech Mastlift, while the ladders are Mast Mate Ladder and Swiss Tech Mast Ladder.

Cruising tips: Solent logic
Article Abstract:
The solent stay is attached near the top of the mast and to a deck fitting aft of the headstay and without furling gear, it offers more flexibility for the weekend sailors and cruisers. One of the advantages of the solent stay is that it can make easy for a small crew to change headsails during wind conditions.
