The 1987-1996 NBA drafts were analyzed to debunk the myths and find reliable predictors of NBA performance, and the results were used to rank the top 25 prospects for 1997. Truths uncovered include: only 2-3 players per draft will be stars, white players are not overrated, and forwards are unpredictable.

Tim Duncan vs. Keith Van Horn: NBA scouts were on hand when the top two college seniors squared off on New Year's Eve
Article Abstract:
The meeting of Tim Duncan and Keith Van Horn, in a game between Wake Forest and the University of Utah, drew basketball scouts from around the country. Van Horn had an excellent scoring and shooting night, but Duncan posted an impressive overall performance. Game details are discussed.

Making a list and checking it twice

Ed Gregory believes that teams can no longer afford to draft top picks based on their potential. With the high salaries, a team has to be assured that a top pick can play. Gregory also looks for winners, for running skills, and personally likes to see the players compete.
