Factorial validity of the Social Physique Anxiety Scale for females
Article Abstract:
A model for the Social Physique Anxiety Scale (SPAS) featuring two first-order factors subordinate to one second-order factor emerges as superior to unidimensional and uncorrelated two-factor models, in a calibration confirmatory factor analysis and double cross-validation analyses. The result conflicts with other validation studies that contend SPAS is unidimensional, and produced incremental fit indices above .90. This study involved 760 females averaging young-adult in age, of various exercise activity levels.

With regard to the social physique anxiety scale (conceptually speaking)
Article Abstract:
Self-presentational processes have a significant impact on participant behavior in sports and exercise. Although models such as the social physique anxiety scale may benefit from debate and potential modification to improve their reliability, the importance of individual perceptions is a key factor in assessing variables and correlations in participant performance.

The measurement of slump-related coping: factorial validity of the COPE and Modified-COPE inventories
Article Abstract:
The COPE and Modified-COPE inventories have proven to be useful in assessing coping strategies for athletes experiencing slumps. COPE and MCOPE provide foundations for evaluating individual variations in managing sports stress. Using empirical double cross-validation design analyses, researchers developed psychometric models based on COPE and MCOPE measurements.
