Puget Sound's varied habitats support a rich and diverse forage base for cutthroat, like sand lance and shrimp in open water, amphipods and isopods along beaches and sculpin and sticklebacks in bays. Some basic information about matching the hatch for these cutthroats is provided.

Yellowstone cutthroat denied endangered species listing
Article Abstract:
The US Fish and Wildlife Service denied Yellowstone National Park-region requests for protection of the cutthroat trout habitat. Low stream flows, and incursion of non-native rainbow and lake trout are cited by protectionists, who vow to collect more data on cutthroat declines.
