Former Stanford University tennis standout Jeff Arons is the driving force behind a remarkable tennis program targeted at disadvantaged young students in the depressed East Palo Alto, CA area. Arons launched his program in 1987 and has since built up one of the strongest youth teams in California.

Tennis equipment manufacturers are producing products geared specifically for women tennis players in recognition of the fact that women tennis players have needs different from their male counterparts. Such products are likely to enable women players to perform better in tournaments.

Leonard Flowers

Athlete Leonard Flowers is one of the 150 handicapped tennis players who participated in the recently concluded Special Olympics World Games held in New Haven, CT. Flowers, who idolizes Pete Sampras, won the gold medal in the individual skills event.
