The two faces of ma huang
Article Abstract:
Ma huang or ephedra, contains alkaloids, the most active being ephedrine which is a vasoconstrictor and is used to treat bronchial conditions. Other claims for the herb is that in combination with caffeine it is an appetite suppressor, and a stimulant. Cautions about the use of the herb are given.

Promising herbs for prostate problems
Article Abstract:
Many men over the age of 50 suffer from benign prostatic hyperplasia, and while surgery and prescription drugs may be effective in combating the affliction they may also have undesirable side effects. The use of herbs, such as saw palmetto and pygeum, may prove to be a reasonable alternative.
