Tourism businesses from around the UK descended on Birmingham for the British travel trade fair, where VisitBritian launched a number of initiatives to inform tourism companies, buyers and the media about its role and the work it is undertaking to grow domestic tourism to England. Surrounding the activities is an England brand strategy, which will entice UK residents planning for their holidays to 'be yourself.

Outstanding contributions for promoting tourism in Britain were felicitated with the 15th Excellence in England Tourism Awards. The awards were given to 28 businesses (hotels, visitor attractions, and Tourism Information Centers) in10 different categories.
