Is there confusion on clean British beaches?
Article Abstract:
Multiple awards for clean beaches are confusing to the public. Few British beaches meet the higher standards required to gain the European Blue Flag award. The Tidy Britain Group has responded by introducing Seaside Awards which require lower standards. However, argument in favour of Seaside awards emhasises that clearer information is given by grading beaches. Safety factors and hygiene are assessed as well as water quality. The flags are sufficiently distinctive to avoid confusion.

A prairie in peril
Article Abstract:
The vast Canadian prairie has been harmed by excessive agricultural use and chemical contamination. Pesticides have ravaged the native wildlife by destroyed habitats and upsetting the food chain. Canadian law does not protect endangered species, so concerned farmers have to act largely on their own to limit pesticide use and protect habitats.
