John Kelly
Article Abstract:
John Kelly , formerly chief executive of Cascade Club Holdings Ltd., is the new chief at Gala Bingo, following its 300 million pounds sterling management buyout from Bass. The deal, backed by PPM Ventures, includes the management of 130 bingo clubs. The bingo market is shrinking, down from some 1800 clubs in the 1970s to around 900 currently, with Gala holding a 26% share. However, it continues to be a major force in the leisure industry, providing the state with an annual revenue of 96 million pounds sterling. Kelly says that Gala's short-term plans are to consolidate its holdings before embarking on cautious expansion plans.
