"In the system": M1 Garand rebuilds
Article Abstract:
The M1 rifle was rebuilt at Springfield armory in 1947 and has a mixture of World War II and earlier parts. Collectors look down their noses at "rebuilt" M1 Garands, but hundreds of thousands of M1s had their useful lives extended through the efforts and dedication of skilled ordnance personnel "in the system".

Sniper rifles based on the short, magazine Lee-Enfield in .303 British was manufactured by Australia. It is stated that the Short Magazine Lee -Enfield Mk 3 formed the basis of the new Australian sniper rifle.
