One of the main tourist attractions in Asheville, North Carolina is the Biltmore chateau constructed in 1895 for owner George Vanderbilt. Historic landmark buildings that have turned into bed and breakfasts or retreats are featured. The beautiful surroundings offer many activities and allow tourists to enjoy the gardens and restaurants. Some hotels featured include Grove Park Inn and Richmond Hill.

Cartographers redrawing maps often find it difficult to keep up with changes in history. The breakup of the Soviet Union is one example of this. Map makers rely on the US Board on Geographic Names to change foreign alphabets to Roman spellings.
