Article Abstract:
The US government has notified the Indian government that it would initiate an anti-subsidy investigation against elastic bands for industrial usage. The scheme which has come under investigation is the duty entitlement pass book (DEPB) scheme. Sources say that the investigations are at a very preliminary stage and there is a lot of time before any duties are levied. The US government has said that it will also target other products and promotion schemes in the future. (khr)
