A genome-wide comparison of recent chimpanzee and human segmental duplications
Article Abstract:
A global comparison of differences in content of segmental duplication between human and chimpanzee, which determines that 33% of human duplications are not duplicated in chimpanzee, is presented. The comparison shows that almost all of the extreme differences relate to changes in chromosome structure, including the emergence of African great ape subterminal heterochromatin.

Initial sequence of the chimpanzee genome and comparison with the human genome
Article Abstract:
The magnitude and regional variation of mutational forces shaping the two genomes, human and chimpanzee, and the strength of positive and negative selection acting on their genes is explored. The pattern of evolution in human and chimpanzee protein-coding genes are fond to be highly correlated and dominated by the fixation of neutral and slightly deleterious alleles.

Conservation of Y-linked genes during human evolution revealed by comparative sequencing in chimpanzee
Article Abstract:
The Y-linked genes in chimpanzee and human, evidence that in human linage, all such genes are conserved through purifying selection by systematically comparing the DNA sequences of unique. In the chimpanzee linage, by contrast, several genes sustained inactivating mutations.
