The new Swedish biotechnology company UmanGenomics has been promoted as a model for interaction of public tissue banks with the biotech industry. But the preoccupation with ethics at this new company has led to the neglect of the researchers' property claims and to the company's needs for flexibility in the scientific and financial contest.
