The principle of temperature-dependent gating in cold- and heat-sensitive TRP channels
Article Abstract:
An unexpected tight link between temperature sensing and voltage-dependent gating in the cold-sensitive channel TRPM8 and the heat-sensitive channel TRPV1 is presented. The results suggest a simple unifying principle that explains both cold and heat sensitivity in TRP channels.

Heat activation of TRPM5 underlies thermal sensitivity of sweet taste
Article Abstract:
TRPM5 a cation channel is found to be highly temperature-senstive. This strong temperature sensitivity of TRPM5 may underlie known effects of temperature on perceived taste in humans, including enhanced perception at high temperatures and thermal taste.
