Bush backs Bement to head science agency

A metallurgist, Ardent Bement has a strong track record in industry, government and academic world and is nominated to serve as a director of National Science Foundation. The foundation is responding to the needs of science regardless of administration. Bement is currently a director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
