Cage enrichment and mouse behavior
Article Abstract:
Mice housed in standard cages show impaired brain development, abnormal repetitive behaviors and this can be lessened by making the cage environment more stimulating which is analyzed through data. The strain and housing effects on test performance were analyzed using a four-way factorial analysis-of-variance model with strain, housing conditions, laboratory and replicate between subject factors.

Encoding social signals in the mouse main olfactory bulb
Article Abstract:
The electrophysiological responses of individual mitral cells were analyzed to volatile compounds in mouse urine. Findings reveal that mitral cells represent natural odorant stimuli by acting as selective feature detectors and their activation is independent of the presence of other components in the olfactory stimulus.

A twist in a mouse tale
Article Abstract:
Examinations of the retinoblastoma gene are able to continue to provide surprises as well as enlightenment. A number of the abnormalities in mice that do not have this gene, are, it appears, the indirect consequence of a defect in the placenta.
