Courtship song components affect male and female Drosophila differently
Article Abstract:
A study of the videotaping of responses of male and female Drosophila melanogaster to male courtship songs showed that females and males were differentially influenced by different songs. Males became inactive while responding to the white noise whereas experimental conditions elicited locomotion and courtship chases. Females responded to the signals reaching the sound-level threshold and showed discrimination between different songs.

Inheritance of courtship song variation among geographically isolated populations of Drosophila mojavensis
Article Abstract:
Use of varied courtship songs in mate recognition in Drosophila species is discussed. Study on D. mojavensis is conducted to determine the impact of courtship song diversification on sexual isolation among populations.
