Article Abstract:
Milnesand, New Mexico is the prairie-chicken capital of the state where each morning for a month or beginning in March, the dancing of the prairie chickens is the premier vernal spectacle of the American prairie. For a couple of hours the Tympanuchus pallidicinctus, all males, gobble and strut and challenge each other to mock battles in the sandy arena for those few vital moments when a hen prairie chicken finally comes along.
