Ediacara-type fossils in Cambrian sediments
Article Abstract:
The Proterozoic Ediacara-type fossils uniquely consist of soft-bodied animals, preserved as impression in coarse-grained sediments. Most are thought to be cnidarians, but some specialists prefer non-metazoan interpretations. Typical Ediarcara-type frond-shaped fossils occurring with an assemblage of Cambrian-type fossils in the Uratanna Formation, South Australia, are reported, indicating a bridge between terminal Proterozoic and Cambrian fossil assemblages.

A fossil origin for the magnetic field in A stars and white dwarfs
Article Abstract:
Reporting numerical simulations that show that stable magnetic field configurations, with properties agreeing with those observed, can develop through evolution from arbitrary, unstable initial fields. The results are applicable equally to Ap stars, magnetic white dwarfs and some highly magnetized neutron stars known as magnetars.

Cambrian origins and affinities of an enigmatic fossil group of arthropods
Article Abstract:
Euthycarcinoids, one of the arthropod groups, form marine strata in Argentina form the Cambrian period, is described. The Cambrian species show that morphological details were conserved despite the transition of marine to fresh water.
