Globins in the brain

The discovery is reported of a third type of globin, named 'neuroglobin', which is found in the nervous system of mammals and which is thought to increase the oxygen availability to the nerve tissue.

DCC (deleted in colorectal cancer) protein is found to interact with the membrane-associated adenosine A2b receptor, which is actually a netrin-1 receptor.
