Essential role for the peroxiredoxin Prdx1 in erythrocyte antioxidant defence and tumour suppression
Article Abstract:
The authors have investigated a member of the peroxiredoxin family of antioxidant enzymes, Prdx1. They report that mice which lack Prdx1 are fertile but have shorter lifespan due to development of severe haemolytic anaemia and malignant cancers.
