Induction of dendritic spines by an extracellular domain of AMPA receptor subunit GluR2
Article Abstract:
An overexpression of the glutamate receptor 2 (GlkuR2) subunit of AMPA receptors increases spine size and density in hippocampal neurons and induces spine formation in GABA-releasing interneurons that lack spines. The NTD of GluR2 functions at the cell surface as part of a receptor-ligand interaction that is important for spine growth or stability is proposed.

Mapping multiple features in the population response of visual cortex
Article Abstract:
The authors have investigated visual cortex. Results have demonstrated that the neural population can be activated via multiple combinations of orientation, motion axis, length and speed.
