Ion pump in the movies
Article Abstract:
A series of high-resolution, three-dimensional snapshots into the working of a membrane ion pump, which is powered by adenosine triphosphate (ATP) molecules, were taken. Comparison of a structural snapshot, where the pump moves calcium ions across biological membranes, an activity crucial for skeletal muscle to function, with images of other stages of the pump's catalytic cycle, provides a complete description of the pump's mechanism.

ESCRT-III recognition by VPS4 ATPases
Article Abstract:
The application of various VPS4 ATPases in the recognition of ESCRT (endosomal sorting complex required for transport)-III pathway is discussed. VPS4 ATPases are found to be very helpful in facilitating the membrane fissions required for the release of viruses and daughter cells.
