Microstimulation of inferotemporal cortex influences face categorization
Article Abstract:
The small clusters of inferior temporal cortex (IT) of neurons are artificially activated by means of electrical microstimulation in order to study the face categorization. The results have established a casual relationship between the activities of face-selective neurons and face perception.

A move to sort life from death
Article Abstract:
The death of nerve cells is a key aspect in the establishment of functional neural circuits during development or after injury. The role played by two unrelated cell-surface proteins and its co-receptors in the nervous system is highlighted.

Sortilin is essential for proNGF-induced neuronal cell death
Article Abstract:
Sortilin acts as a co-receptor and molecular switch governing the p75 (super NTR) mediated pro-apoptotic signal induced by proNGF. Nerve growth factor (NGF) regulates cell survival and cell death via binding to different receptors.
